Comment Warning – Comments Page

This page is provided for general comments on the Comment Warning WordPress plugin. If you have a support issue, please leave a comment on the Comment Warning – Support Page.

Why have I separated Comments and Support Issues from the main plugin page?
Two main reasons, both relating to the amount of comments this site gets:

  1. The support issues tend to get lost in the “nice plugin” comments. They deserve their own space.
  2. When you get almost 500 comments on one of your most important pages, it doesn’t do much for your PageRank.

  1. I think “yourname@yourkeywords” is more prevalent than “keywordluv”. Anyway, since most of my posts have been reindexed without either one, the number of comment spammers has reduced considerably.

  2. Hi RT,

Yep – yourkeywords is in the list of ‘trigger terms’. If that’s anywhere in the URL, the warning will be triggered.

That’s why false positives are possible. It will trigger for somedomain.com/howtochooseyourkeywords/ as well as any search which includes +yourkeywords. I’ve deliberately tried to make it as wide as possible.

Anyway, glad to hear that your spam is dropping off.

  3. This is a great plugin but I find that some blogs have comment warnings telling you to only enter your name in the the name field yet have keywordluv enabled. Does this mean that you are not allowed to add yourname@keyword in the name field? If I put yourname@keyword will they delete my comment? If so why have keywordluv enabled?

    1. Hi Alana,

it’s all to do with sites getting too many spam comments. I have the warning because I have so much spam, but I keep KeywordLuv running on some pages because I’m the creator of the plugin and need to demo it.

  4. Thank you i have just installed the plugin on one of my blogs, but it does not seem to be working, i have activated it. but when i go to the make a comment part of the blog, it is just the same as before. there are no rules please help
