Twitter Weekly Updates for 2009-05-31

Sunday, May 31st, 2009
  • Went to an Open Text Web Solutions Group User today and saw RedDot 10. Looks good, but it’s not called RedDot anymore. #
  • I’m not a big fan of RedDot, but have to admit it’s a decent enterprise level CMS. WordPress isn’t for all the WordPress as a CMS posts. #
  • From the demo, Open Text appear to have really embraced social media internally: person centric, not document centric. Using Yammer too. #
  • Abandoning my DoFollow WordPress plugin. Too much comment spam. Would have done it long ago if I wasn’t the author of KeywordLuv. #
  • Reading about Design Float being hacked yet again http://tinyurl.com/owrr9d – Don’t visit DF at present, it’s still infected. #
  • Visited Design Float this morning, wondering why feed hadn’t been updated. Because they’ve been hacked. Looks normal but has hidden Iframes #
  • Looking at Yahoo Placemaker, a new web service that extracts all known geo locations from text, RSS, or HTML http://tinyurl.com/qd4f3r #
  • @scottyang ni shuo shenme? What’s this about KRudd saying zaijian? Random comment or did I miss some news? in reply to scottyang #
  • Was supposed to go to Interactive Mind’s Twitter event in Brisbane this morning, but had to brief Minister’s Team instead (on RTI). #
  • RT: @problogger: AdSense have added image ads to the bottom of link unit pages – http://is.gd/FSMd #
  • RT: @stevensnell: Interview with Matthew Jurmann about running a small design studio – http://bit.ly/ho1N8 #
  • RT: @problogger: Twitter are resetting passwords on some accounts they believe are caught in a phishing scam (beware) – http://is.gd/G3Ow #
  • @scottyang A day late, but thanks for the Sol Trujillo link. I’d missed it. I guess it depends on the tone used, but storm in a tea cup. in reply to scottyang #
  • RT: @problogger: hearing reports of sites getting page rank for the first time – seems some kind of update is happening at Google #
  • WP no good as enterprise CMS but I liked RT: @stevensnell: 40 Exceptional CMS Enabling WordPress Plugins – http://bit.ly/Oz10e (@nourayehia) #
  • @KyleEslick apparantly there is PageRank update in progess. @problogger tweeted it 7 hs ago and I’ve seen other reports too. in reply to KyleEslick #
  • Avast Antivirus is reporting openstat.ws , even though the source of open sites in Firefox don’t include it. Anybody else have this? #
  • @ozh my new post concerns malware served up by Adsense through your site. http://bit.ly/m2iLh Like to know your thoughts but I’m to bed now. #
  • RT: @gridkid: Friendly advice #Microsoft – if you’re going to push a product launch video (for #bing ) make it work on #firefox and #safari. #
  • This looks great! RT: @googledownunder: Went Walkabout. Brought back Google Wave. Made in right here in Australia. http://bit.ly/pZXNz #
  • I fail to see the point of Navify (techcrunch story: http://tcrn.ch/2fr). Someone could make a Greasemonkey script that does that. #
  • @ozh re malware, I answered your comments. I don’t think it can be your site. http://tinyurl.com/lyxrle #
  • @mcpheechris Welcome to Twitter. Softlink needs a presence on Twitter! #
  • Working on a WordPress plugin that’s significant enough to require it’s own top level menu. Going to take a while to do though. #

Google Adsense Serving Up Malware?

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

Tonight I was browsing the Internet, when my virus software notified me of a potential threat from openstat.ws. None of the websites open in Firefox had a link to this site in the source. After some investigation, it appears that the potentially malicious site is called by Google Adsense.

Over the last couple of years, I’ve been a big supporter of the DoFollow movement, but the time has come to say goodbye to DoFollow comments on this blog.
