Australia Day, Aussie Bloggers Site And Darren Rowse
January 26th, 2008 by Stephen Cronin (1,050 views)Today is Australia Day, a national holiday celebrating our fine country, and an appropriate time for me to talk about a new community for Australian bloggers: Aussie Bloggers.
The brainchild of Meg from Dipping Into The Blogpond, Snoskred from Life In The Country and Andrew from On Blogging Australia, the site officially launched, on January 21, 2008. It’s purpose is to bring together Australian Bloggers into one community.

Aussie Bloggers is a group blog, featuring a core group of writers, along with guest posts from many others. It offers Australian bloggers the opportunity to showcase their work and to reach a much larger audience than they might on their individual blogs.
As well as the blog, Aussie Bloggers includes a forum with a range of topics. The forum was soft-launched on December 30, 2007 and already includes more than 200 active members. It is a lively, friendly, helpful place - and a big drain on my time. 
The site, particularly the forum, serve as focal point for Australian bloggers. I’ve met many great bloggers there, that I wouldn’t have otherwise. There is the BUMPzee community, but it lacks the easy interactivity the forum offers.
So, what does Darren Rowse, ProBlogger, have to do with all of this? Well Darren is arguably Australia’s most famous blogger. As well as popping up in the forum from time to time, an interview with Darren was posted on the blog for Australia Day. Even if you’re not Australian, it’s worth a read!
As for my part, I’ll be contributing to the Aussie Bloggers blog from time and I’m also a moderator in the forum. I’m really enjoying it so far and I’m very happy to be part of something special.

Darren, actually is very possibly the most famous blogger not in just Australia, but also the world. The site seems to be very interesting. Thanks for the heads up and I’ll be frequenting Aussie bloggers.
I visited the site Aussie Bloggers and it is a great compilation of different views and writers. It seems that Australia has a lot of bloggers. I didn’t realize that.
